Although for some brides their veil is a time honoured tradition, for most modern brides it’s simply a way to feel beautiful and empowered - a show of their personal style.
Cathedral veils rose to fame after Princess Diana’s epic 25 foot silk veil - hand beaded with over 10,000 individual pearls. Since then brides can’t get enough of the drama and rightly so!

HOW LONG IS LONG?
But how long is a cathedral veil? Over the last 6 years we’ve carefully defined a cathedral veil as being the length that suits 95% of long dresses - and the optimum length?
Simple. 300cm from the comb to the hem.
This might seem really long (unless you’re one of our fave brides who wants an even more epic veil!) but when paired with your beautiful dress it’s a statement piece without being unmanageable on the day. The best part of being the bride is you’re the one everyone wants to chat to - so you don’t have to worry about people stepping on your train or veil. For once, it’s about you.

THE DREAMY WINDY VEIL SHOTS...
Your photos are the one thing (other than the marriage!) you take away with you. Along with getting an ace photographer, it’s all about your finishing touches. Alongside your dress, one of the things which makes those photos epic is the cathedral veil. Even a simple one gets caught in the wind creating pure magic.

But what if a cathedral veil is simply not enough? Fret not… the Royal Cathedral Veil is for you! On the technical side any veil longer than 300cm is classed as Royal Cathedral length - and the best part - there’s no upper limit!
Popularised by Priyanka Chopra’s wedding in 2018, the Royal Cathedral length is the epitome of drama and luxury. Priyanka’s veil was a whopping 22 metres!
AGATA'S VEIL
Agata was one of our first Royal Cathedral veils! I will always remember her coming to her appointment (at the time we were still based in a tiny flat in central London) and we spent a lovely hour trying veils, sitting on the floor pouring out crystals and pearls and arranging them to create the perfect delicate scalloped edge. Agata wanted subtle detailing - and we sourced some gunmetal crystals to match her dress - to go alongside the Eva pearl drop trim. And she wanted it looooooong!

CHRISTINA'S VEIL
Christina’s brief? ‘I want your most dramatic veil and then make it even more epic!’ Challenge accepted! Christina loved our Cinderella dramatic wedding veil but she wanted even more drama. We doubled the length and the amount of detailing, as well as researching a lace which perfectly suited her aesthetic. Set in a vineyard, her family had hired a village in the south of France and the veil needed to match the grandeur of a destination wedding.
MY PETITE BRIDES SOMETIMES WORRY THEY’RE TOO SHORT FOR A CATHEDRAL VEIL. THERE’S NO SUCH RULE! IT’S ALL ABOUT BALANCING THE PROPORTION OF THE VEIL TO YOUR DRESS, AND GETTING THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF DETAILING.
